NIGS graduate students embark on an international internship journey

In 2015, the Ministry of Education of Taiwan launched the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP), which is a short-term internship program arranged by Taiwanese universities for international students. This year, two graduate students, Mr. Nikko Balanial and Mr. John Kenneth Badillo from the Rushurgent Working Group (RWG) of the National Institute of Geological Sciences (NIGS), are taking part in the program. They are doing their internship at the National Chung Cheng University in Chiayi, Taiwan from June 17 to July 29, 2024, hosted by Prof. Yuan-Hsi Lee of NCCU. During their internship, the students are being trained on the use of state-of-the-art laboratory equipment of the university to analyze their rock samples.
