A group of professors from three universities, namely National Chung Cheng University, National Cheng Kung University, and National Central University visited the National Institute of Geological Sciences (NIGS) on January 23, 2024. Their visit was part of a tour of academic institutions offering geoscience courses, including Adamson University, Mapua University, and the School of Environmental Science and Management at UP Los Baños.Â
Taiwanese professors are joined by the NIGS faculty and students who attended their talks.
During their visit to NIGS, the Taiwanese professors delivered a series of talks in the NIGS Auditorium, where they shared their current research interests and projects. The topics covered in their presentations included biogeochemistry, paleontology, marine geology, hydrology, and drainage basin dynamics. Apart from showcasing their research, the visit was also aimed at promoting Taiwanese universities to Filipino students interested in pursuing graduate studies in Taiwan.
Dr. Chia Yu Chen, a professor from the National Chung Cheng University, presented her work on the dynamics of drainage basins.
