RWG and GIGCAS forge stronger research collaborations

In January 28 to February 1, 2024, the Rushurgent Working Group (RWG) professors visited the Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (GIGCAS). During their visit, GIGCAS scientists hosted a meeting with the RWG scientists to discuss future research collaborations between Filipino and Chinese geoscientists. The tour of the different laboratories was conducted to showcase the advanced research facilities at GIGCAS. This visit is expected to foster more meaningful scientific exchanges between the Philippines and the People's Republic of China.


The RWG-NIGS professors receive a warm welcome from the faculty and researchers at GIGCAS.


Professors from the NIGS Rushurgent Working Group (RWG) visited the Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (GIGCAS) last January 28 to February 1, 2024. The scientists from GIGCAS hosted the visit of the RWG professors to strengthen the existing research collaborations. Several RWG professors gave short presentations of their current research initiatives and interests.  A tour of the different laboratories was also conducted to showcase the state-of-the-art research facilities at GIGCAS. This visit is expected to promote more productive scientific exchanges between the NIGS-RWG and GIGCAS researchers.


Dr. Gabriel Theophilus Valera, Dr. Jillian Gabo-Ratio and Dr. Leo Armada presented some of the results of their recent research initiatives.
